Hockney without Spectator

I’ve been teaching myself how to paint. Most of the time I feel entirely original dabbling in colors and shapes but sometimes I yearn to paint stories or edit others stories. I always loved Hockney’s “Portrait of an artist pool with two figures” and have thought of it often as I’ve swam in Hockney like pools throughout my Angeleno life. But I’ve been felt alone swimming – and so when working on this experiment last night I decided the swimmer would be too.

alone, 2018. 12×12. Acrylic on canvas.
